JAKARTA, investortrust.id – PT Intikeramik Alamasri Industri Tbk (IKAI) is strengthening its commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles through the implementation of an eco-friendly hotel concept at the Swiss-Belhotel in Bogor, West Java. The program has the potential to generate operational cost efficiencies of up to 30% during the 2025–2026 period.
This IKAI subholding is strengthening its sustainability program by focusing on energy efficiency, water efficiency, the elimination of single-use plastics, and the use of eco-friendly chemicals.
IKAI Independent Commissioner Bernardus Djonoputro welcomed the launch of the circular laundry and facility cleaning pilot program, a collaboration between Swiss-Belhotel Bogor and Siklus. The implementation of eco-friendly practices at Swiss-Belhotel Bogor makes a significant ecological contribution, given Bogor’s role as a buffer zone for Jakarta.
“This eco-friendly approach not only reduces pollution around the city of Bogor but also has a positive impact on the capital city of Jakarta,” said Desra in an official statement in Jakarta on Monday, August 24, 2026.
IKAI CEO Desra Ghazfan emphasized that this step is a tangible manifestation of the company’s commitment to implementing an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) framework. “This proves that Swiss-Belhotel has been implementing a framework to measure the sustainability and ethical impact of a business beyond purely financial aspects,” he said.
Heru Wibowo, General Manager of Swiss-Belhotel Bogor, previously explained that implementing an eco-friendly concept is a long-term strategy to support the government’s green energy program while aligning the hotel’s operations with international standards.
Swiss-Belhotel Bogor is a pioneer within its network in adopting eco-friendly chemical products from Cplus (PT Siklus Indonesia). These products are used in four key areas: laundry, general area cleaning, kitchen cleaning, and furniture care.
The products were originally formulated for hospital use, ensuring a high level of safety for both guests and employees. Additionally, approximately 70% of the product components are locally produced to support the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) requirement.
The implementation of eco-green principles at Swiss-Belhotel Bogor has had a positive impact on both operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. First, in terms of financial efficiency, the program is expected to reduce operating costs by up to 30% during the 2025–2026 period. The company aims to achieve efficiency gains of 40–60% by 2030.
Second, wastewater treatment brings the wastewater quality to a neutral level with a pH of 7. This makes the water safer for recycling and prevents damage to the river ecosystem. Third, Swiss-Belhotel Bogor has eliminated the use of single-use plastics by replacing all plastic bottles with refillable glass bottles since early 2025.
