Swiss-Belhotel Bogor Pioneers the Concept of an Eco-Friendly Hotel

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – The implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles is becoming an integral part of the hospitality industry’s operational strategies. Swiss-Belhotel Bogor, West Java, for example, is strengthening its sustainability program by focusing on energy and water efficiency, reducing single-use plastics, and using environmentally friendly chemicals.

The hotel, which is part of the Subholding of PT Intikeramik Alamasri Industri Tbk (IKAI), has partnered with Siklus through the implementation of the Circular Laundry and Facility Cleaning Pilot Program.

The program is designed not only to reduce environmental impact but also to improve the hotel’s operational efficiency. According to company data, the implementation of eco-green principles has helped reduce operating costs by up to 30% during the 2025–2026 period. The company aims to further increase this efficiency rate to 40%–60% by 2030.

PT IKAI CEO Desra Ghazfan said the implementation of this program is a tangible demonstration of the company’s commitment to adhering to the ESG framework. “This proves that Swiss-Belhotel has implemented a framework to measure the sustainability and ethical impact of a business beyond purely financial aspects,” he said.

Swiss-Belhotel Bogor Pioneers the Use of Green Chemicals

Heru Wibowo, General Manager of Swiss-Belhotel Bogor, said that implementing eco-friendly concepts is part of the company’s long-term strategy. In addition to supporting the government’s green energy program, this step was taken to align the hotel’s operations with international sustainability standards.

Swiss-Belhotel Bogor is the first hotel in its network to adopt eco-friendly cleaning products from Cplus, a brand of PT Siklus Indonesia. These products are used for four key operational needs: laundry, cleaning of common areas, kitchen cleaning, and furniture maintenance.

The chemical products previously used were formulated for hospital use, so their safety is a priority for both guests and hotel employees. In terms of domestic product usage, approximately 70% of the product components are produced locally. This initiative also supports the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) requirement.
