Jakarta, FORTUNE – PT Inticeramik Alamasri Industri Tbk (IKAI) recorded revenue of IDR 109.9 billion in the second quarter of 2023, up from IDR 108.8 billion on June 30 2022.
The company also succeeded in reducing its cost of goods from IDR 60.8 billion in June 2022 to IDR 51.4 billion in June 2023. Thus, the company’s gross profit increased from IDR 48.01 billion in June 2022 to IDR 58.4 billion in June 2023 .
IKAI President Director Yohas Raffli said the company is optimistic that its business will still be positive amidst challenging global and national conditions. The company will encourage all business lines to continue to optimize operational performance in order to maximize profits.
“During the second quarter of this year, the manufacturing business declined slightly. However, business from the hospitality business line actually contributed much better. On the other hand, the company continues to boost efficiency to maximize profits,” said Yohas in an official statement in Jakarta, Thursday (3/ 8).
According to Yohas, the company has a strategy to increase profits with three side-by-side business lines. Thus, when one business line declines slightly, another business line actually accelerates. IKAI itself is an investment issuer that has three business lines, namely manufacturing, hospitality and property development.
The company continues to take advantage of this opportunity to maximize its financial position and move forward amidst challenging economic conditions. Company management has and will execute strategic priorities that have been compiled in a long-term work plan (roadmap).
In the same period, the company succeeded in improving business efficiency by reducing operational expenses. This can be seen from the sales expenses which were successfully reduced from IDR 4.72 billion to IDR 4.38 billion in the second quarter of 2023.
“Even though it is still under pressure, the company managed to record an operating profit of IDR 1.39 billion from the previous loss of IDR 3.94 billion,” said Yohas.
Yohas explained that this year is the momentum for the increase in hotel business. He added that the progress in the growth of the hotel business was due to several factors, especially the long Idul Fitri 1444H holiday last April. Plus, after the Covid-19 pandemic, Yohas believes that people have become more enthusiastic about making the most of their holiday time.
Another factor mentioned is that each hotel subsidiary will carry out a new key initiative, namely adding facilities to each available space to increase income in addition to hotel room occupancy.
