Commissioner Independent

Bernardus Djonoputro received his bachelor degree from the School of Urban and Regional Planning at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Master in Business Management from Binus Business School. He is currently a Phd candidate at the School of Strategic and Global Studies, University of Indonesia.

He is the honorary Trade Advisor to the government of New Zealand envoys in South East Asia. He also sits as commissioner of PT Bandara Internasional Jawa Barat Aerocity Development (PT BIJBAD). From 2022-2025 he was the CEO of the Rebana Economic Corridor Management Agency, West Java provincial government. Bernardus is Founding Shareholder and Managing Director of Smart City Orchestra Ltd, a Japanese technology and smart city company based in Tokyo. He is also the investor behind a bio-conversion and qaste management company AAL-Bio. Currently he sits as international Fellow and Faculty of the Salzburg Global Seminar, a globalization think tank based in Salzburg Austria.

He has built more than 35 years of professional career in the private and public sector. He started his career with American Express Bank, and then held senior management positions and equity partner with major international financial advisory firms PwC, Deloitte and EY. He was advisors to major corporations, ministries, foreign and national governments, governors and mayors. He also has had extensive experience working as director PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk, and Commisioner of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur.

Bernardus is holder of First Class Certified City Planner, and a Member of International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCAROP). He is the national Chair of the Planning Ethics Board of the Indonesian Association of Urban and Regional Planners (IAP). Bernardus also currently sits in the Advisory Board of the University Endowement Fund and Business Management Agency, Bandung Institute of Technology.

He has been recognized with several accolades throughout his career, including the prestigious Anugerah Ganesha Wirya Jasa Utama (2025) from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) for his dedication to the advancing of urban and regional planning practice in Indonesia. He is also receipient of American Express Worldwide Best Performer Award (1993) for outstanding performance.
